They debuted at the 1996 Olympics apparently, Peter Minshall; a prominent artist in the Caribbean was who was well known for his large puppets made for festivals, he was commissioned to make an unforgettable opening to the Atlanta Olympics, after creating a basic sketch Peter contacted Doron Gazit, an artist who happened to be obsessed with all things inflatable who was then tasked with creating the inflatable man, and together they made one of the least forgettable intros to the Olympics ever. Thats history they should've taught us in school!
